Construction Inspector Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Construction Inspector to monitor daily construction activities, ensure compliance with regulatory standards , and verify that work adheres to project specifications and local codes. You will inspect materials, review test results , and maintain accurate logs to ensure high-quality, safe project delivery.
Responsibilities and Duties
Site Inspections: Perform daily field inspections of structures, earthwork, foundations, utilities, and paving to ensure adherence to plans and specifications.
Quality Assurance: Verify that materials used, workmanship, and installation methods comply with approved building codes and contract requirements.
Material Testing: Observe testing procedures and collect samples to verify quality.
Documentation & Reporting: Prepare clear, accurate, and concise daily work reports, defect logs, and project progress records.
Contract Administration: Document contractor activities and material usage to assist project managers with processing accurate contractor payments and monitoring schedules.
Safety Compliance: Identify potential safety hazards, ensure OSHA regulations are met on-site , and recommend corrective actions or issue stop-work orders for infractions.
Communication: Serve as a liaison between project managers, engineers, contractors, and local regulators.
Technical Knowledge: Strong ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, contracts, and technical specifications.
Software Skills: Proficiency in using project management and inspection tracking software (e.g., Procore, AutoCAD, MS Office) .
